The Journey Begins

The long journey to restore the ancestral hall of Shuntak Association Taiping begins with the first step.  After getting the members' approval at the Annual General Meeting, a local architect firm was appointed to manage the restoration work.  A team from the firm, headed by Mr Lee Yong Chiew began work on 8 March 2013.  The building was surveyed and measured so as to enable them to draft a measured drawing, which is to be submitted to the Taiping Town Council for approval.  It is believed that the Town Council will keep a record of day-to day progress of the restoration project and intends make it the benchmark for other future restoration projects in town.

Here we see the team from the architect firm measuring the building and working on the draft.
